Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how TradeConnect India ("we", "us") collects, uses, stores and shares information when you use our website and services. By using the platform, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email address, mobile number, password (stored hashed) and your selected role (worker, company or supervisor).
  • Profile information: department and trade, years of experience, skills, location, bio, work history, company details, profile and cover photos.
  • Documents: identity documents, certificates and other files you upload for verification.
  • Activity data: job applications, posts, comments, likes, follows, messages, reviews and skill-test results.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, and basic usage logs needed to operate and secure the service.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and maintain your account and public profile.
  • To match workers with jobs and allow companies to review applicants.
  • To verify identity, credentials and skill-test outcomes.
  • To enable messaging, notifications, reviews and social features.
  • To prevent fraud, fake profiles, spam and abuse.
  • To improve the platform and provide customer support.

3. What is public and what is private

Your profile (name, role, trade, experience, skills, location, verified badge, posts) is publicly visible so that employers can find you. Sensitive details such as phone number, WhatsApp number, email address, identity documents, GST details and skill-test scores are restricted — they are visible only to you, to administrators, and in limited cases to parties you have a genuine connection with (for example a company you applied to, or a mutual follower).

4. Data storage and security

Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure powered by Supabase (PostgreSQL database, authentication and file storage), with data protected by row-level security rules, encrypted connections and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.

5. Third-party services

  • Google OAuth — optional sign-in using your Google account (we receive your name, email and profile picture).
  • Supabase — database, authentication and document/media storage.
  • Payment providers — for premium subscriptions; card details are handled by the provider, never stored by us.

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your theme preference and secure your session. We do not use cookies to sell your data to advertisers. Blocking essential cookies may prevent you from signing in.

7. Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile, documents and personal details are removed; some records may be retained where required for legal, security or dispute-resolution purposes.

8. Your rights

You may access and update your information from your dashboard at any time. You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable period.

9. Children

The platform is not intended for anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
